New Venture Launch

Opening a café in a public library

After the pandemic, it became clear that the Library should not be operating a café but should focus its staffing efforts to library services...”

Summary

Coming in early 2026! I have the privilege of helping a local small business owner open a café at our city public library. When the café was run by the library, it didn’t make enough revenue and had been closed since the pandemic. It’s been energizing to work on a real-world service for the public benefit. I would love to do more of this in the future.

So far, I’ve helped the owner with the public bidding process, market research, floor plan creation, project management, revenue forecasting, and overall moral support. 🫡

Conducting market research at four library cafés
